The Meeting of the Minds Conference -- jointly convened by Toyota, the UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design, LandDesign, and Urban Age Institute
-- aims to bring two worlds together around one common goal: designing more sustainable post-carbon cities while creating more sustainable vehicles.

This invitation-only Conference provides a unique platform for leading automotive technologists/engineers, who focus on designing cars and buses, to share their future visions with leading urban planners and designers, who focus on the built environments which house more than half of humanity.

Approximately 150 participants are leaders drawn from the public sector (particularly big city mayors); the private sector (auto companies; urban design/planning and development companies); independent sector (academia, NGOs and media). They will spend two full days re-imagining 'the big picture'; learning from cities successfully adopting neighborhood-based solutions; debating vehicle and innovating new surface systems; identifying the critical tools which we need in order to move forward.

With live webcasts streaming the Conference through several websites, and with live blogging and other creative uses of digital media, Conference discussions will have a wide audience and reach key change-agents on four continents.
